Continuing the share out of Dr. Oz’s “Greatest Health Tips,” today we pick back up with # 16….
#16. Put it in the bank…finances are often listed as a major stressor. Put some money aside for emergencies and you will sleep better. Stress drives people to do things that aren’t the best for them like smoking, drinking, binging on sweets or other comfort foods, etc.
#17. Have as much sex as possible…just don’t quit your day job! LOL.
#18. Know your numbers…then aim lower. Like blood pressure 115/70, or LDL cholesterol and fasting blood sugar under 100, and resting heart rate under 70 per Dr. Oz.
#19. Add some weights. You know this one. I’ve talked a lot about the benefits of resistance exercises. Aim for 30 minutes at LEAST twice a week according to the doc. Adding muscle (catabolically active tissue) burns more calories while they are working, as well as while at rest. Muscle just does a body good.
#20. Grab your nuts….of course this would come from a men’s magazine! (Case in point, see #17!) But seriously, nuts provide healthy fat and protein. They are super portable. Eat half a handful 30 minutes before a meal and you’ll eat fewer calories. Try it.
That’s your installment for Monday. We have 5 more tips left. Until then, have a blessed week. EXPECT wonderful things, and…Live FIT, Live STRONG, and LAUGH often!
