Today, I received an e-tip from a motivational keynote speaker & trainer Julie Alexander (www.JulieAlexander.com). I’ve had the pleasure of hearing Julie speak a number of times and this woman walks the talk! She gave me permission to share her message, so I am providing you with the Cliff Notes version below!
Positive Strategies for Negative Times
1. KEEP GOING. That’s the one foot in front of the other vs. waiting for things to change. Keep taking action.
2. GET CREATIVE; TRY FRESH IDEAS. Look for smarter, better, faster, cheaper, more effective ways of getting results. Try something new!
3. IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF YOUR WORK. Like Nike says, “Just do it!” but Julie says, “Do it better!” –the prize will go to the best.
4. KEEP RELATIONSHIPS STRONG AND HEALTHY. ‘Nuff said.
5. KEEP LEARNING. Sharpen the saw.
6. FOCUS ON RAISING THE LEVEL OF WORKPLACE MORALE. You spend so much time at work, do your part to make it better. It will help everyone.
7. RAISE THE LEVEL OF YOUR PERSONAL MORALE. Focus on your blessings. (That always does it for me…we really have so much to be thankful for, don’t we?)
8. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. Eat well, sleep well, exercise at least 30 minutes a day, journal/pray/meditate.
And last of all, Julie’s wise words, “The past is over. You can’t change it or get it back. The future is unknown. Worrying about it won’t change what will be. It’s now that matters. Take positive action. Doing so is important–now, more than ever.”
And, as Julie says, “Make it a GREAT day!”
