Step by Step Guide to Your Best You, Last Installment!

Today wraps up my Cliff notes recap of simple strategies easily implemented for a better you TODAY. We’ll begin with #16.

#16. Rest. This one is so easy and yet so elusive for many of us, yet it’s a crucial piece to healing and recovery–especially when active or stressed.

#17. Walk. One the beach, around the block, in the woods, after that piece of pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving. Look up & feel the sun on your face.

#18. Dance! Whenever, wherever–just dance! It has an effect similar to smiling, laughing and singing.

#19. Cry…if you need to. Tears have antiviral and antibacterial properties and lubricate the eyes.

#20. Treat yourself to dessert. Yup, I said it. Try to achieve the 80/20 rule–80% healthy, but ooccasionally indulge & enjoy. Want to save a few calories Thanksgiving? Opt for the pumpkin pie at 300 calories vs. pecan pie at 480. Better yet, eat only the filling and you’ve dropped your calories to just 180! Woo-hoo….sounds like something to smile, laugh and dance about! Or better yet, indulge, enjoy and go walk around the block.
